Good Budgeting SiteI want to come up with a household budget for the family, is there a good budgeting site that can help with family money matters? My HomeI am trying to switch from a country primitive style decorating to a more retro vintage happy homemaker look, 1930’s 1950’s look in my home. My home budget is only a sewing thread, not a shoe string. What is the first low cost thing I can do?

Paint is pretty inexpensive, Shermin Williams has retro paints grouped in 50s-60s colors. pretty cool. We choose a light green for our kitchen. Looks great with Satin Nickel hardware.

He has a great system, and I think there’s a “quickie family budget” form on his site. His ipod show is good too.

For 1 month, keep track of every penny you spend. Bills, food, expenses. After that month, sit down and plot out where all of your money goes and make a household budget based on that. When you have all of the numbers in front of you it’s easier to see where you can cut back and save money. Good luck 🙂

My question is, do you have a degree in English? If so, there are many schools here in the USA that you can work at, but you have to take a national exam to determine what grade level you can teach at. As far as going to a school to extend your education, financial aid is available to all students who enter into college as long as you meet the certain criteria. I am attending a community college here in Indiana, but financial aid and housing is available only in universities and some technical schools. I am originally for the Houston, Texas area, there is Texas A&M and it has a really good English Program, Pre-Med, and also Business. But do not let that be your only choice. I’m trying to set a family budget, and I need a website that I can print off an actual budget list so we can track what we are spending and also set up a budget from there. I have quicken, but it’s tough because of different bank accounts. Any suggestions?

Answer by AB`With quicken you can look at your total expenses in categories for the month even if they are in different bank accounts. I don’t know which version you use so I can’t say exactly where it is but the reports show you your total income and expenses for the month or year if you ask it to show you that.

I like the envelope system, like Mvelopes.com has, but they charge like $ 140 for it. I am trying to save money and get my debt taken care of, so i cannot spend money to buy that program.

Budgeting Software CAN make tracking expenses EASIER, but it CAN’T do anything you can’t do on a sheet of paper. I PROMISE you already have a spreadsheet program on you computer. You can track your ‘envelopes’ with it.

My husband got a new job, but will not be starting for several weeks. We know how much his monthly salary will be.
