Butte’s Banks are Rated Amongst the Strongest Financial Institutions in the West (1915)

"Butte has six huge banking institutions with total deposits of about ,000,000 and with an aggregate capital, surplus and undivided income of about ,000,000. The bank clearings in 1914 had been close to ,000,000.
Of the six big banking institutions, two are national banks – the 1st National and the Silver Bow National. Clark Brothers’ and Yegen Brothers’ banks are private institutions. The other folks are the Daly Bank and Trust business and the Miners’ Savings Bank and Trust organization….
It is indeed refreshing to live in an atmosphere of lots and prosperity, such as Butte boasts. With liberal wages and an immense payroll always in evidence, cash is ever plentiful, trade is usually brisk and financial failures are couple of and far among. From the capitalist to the laborer ‘tight money’ is practically an unknown commodity in Butte." (pg. 17 of Butte, Montana)
